Connecting Global Markets: The “Journey to Excellence and Oceania Free Trade Center Inauguration Ceremony” Successfully Held

On July 22, the “Journey to Excellence and Inauguration of The Oceania Center” was successfully held by Haikou Bay in Hainan. The event was attended by over 100 political, business, and cultural figures from China and abroad, including Sir John Key, the 38th Prime Minister of New Zealand, and Chen Huaiyu, Vice Governor of Hainan Province.

The “Journey to Excellence” is a large-scale international business event created by The Oceania Center and “M2 Media Group.” It showcases China’s charm by combining culture and business. The initiative is promoted by Xinhua News Agency and filmed by CCTV English Channel, with support from authoritative media.

Sir John Key, as the head of the Journey to Excellence Oceania Delegation and the Honorary Chairman of The Oceania Center, delivered a speech at the event. He fully acknowledged the progress and breakthroughs made by Journey to Excellence China and The Oceania Center over the past year and expressed gratitude to the relevant government agencies for their support. In the coming days, he plans to visit several other cities and engage with the Chinese government, hoping to encourage more South Pacific region financial institutions to invest in China and support Oceania enterprises’ development in the country. He expressed his willingness to engage in extensive cooperation with China in cultural and economic fields. The stable development of both sides Zealand relations over the decades has not come easily and should be cherished, maintained, and further deepened by both sides.

Vice Governor Chen Huaiyu warmly welcomed Sir John Key and the Oceania Delegation for their long journey and expressed gratitude for the trust and support from Sir John and other friends from Australia and New Zealand towards the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Vice Governor Chen Huaiyu then introduced the development achievements of the Hainan Free Trade Port, explained the cooperation advantages between the Hainan Free Trade Port and New Zealand as well as other Oceania countries, and looked forward to strengthening cooperation for greater success in the future.

Stonewood Key China CEO and Chairman of The Oceania Center, Kevin Sun, as the host of the event, warmly welcomed the leaders and guests. He introduced the positioning and collaborative projects of The Oceania Center, highlighting its core philosophy of “Nature, Culture, Future.” As a solid bridge for comprehensive cooperation between China and Oceania, the center is poised to facilitate the expansion of Chinese and foreign enterprises into overseas markets, achieving mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.

At the event, Deputy Director of the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development, Liu Rutao, delivered a presentation on the theme “New Opportunities for Cooperation between the Hainan Free Trade Port and New Zealand.” He explored cooperative planning through various directions, including the digital economy and green, low-carbon initiatives.

After a brief tea break, Deputy Secretary of the Meilan District Committee and District Mayor of the Meilan District Government in Haikou City, Wu Shengjiao, gave a presentation promoting relevant aspects of Meilan District.

Andre Rowell, Owner of M2 International Media Group, explained the importance of The Oceania Center as a symbol of trust and cooperation between China and South Pacific region. He expressed admiration for the business leaders and representatives involved, emphasizing the power of respect, collaboration, and shared excellence.

With favorable weather conditions and the picturesque scene of Haikou Bay gradually clearing, the attending leaders and guests together witnessed the inauguration of The Oceania Center.

Following the grand inauguration ceremony, the event proceeded to the signing phase, where 15 cooperation agreements were signed on-site. These agreements covered various fields, including finance, cultural creativity, AI technology, biotechnology, and education.

In the afternoon, participants including political and business figures and corporate representatives from both China and abroad, gathered in the hall of The Oceania Center for discussions. The Meilan District Government of Haikou City, Agricultural Bank of China Hainan Branch, NIO, Stonewood Key China, SMARTSPACE AI Technology Company, INFIN8, and BIOFAB Environmental Biotechnology Company each gave presentations. Attendees also engaged in a Q&A session.

The successful completion of this event marks the launch of the “Journey to Excellence” series of international exchange activities and the full-scale operation of The Oceania Center. Standing at the new open gateway of Hainan, The Oceania Center platform shines brightly, looking out over the South China Sea, where every drop of water connects to the vast Pacific Ocean. We will serve as a solid bridge for comprehensive cooperation between China and Oceania, becoming a key conduit for future collaboration.
